Vibrational-Excitation-Induced and Spontaneous Conformational Changes in Solid Para-H2—Diminished Matrix Effects

چکیده
Both vibrational-excitation-induced (by (N)IR laser) and spontaneous H atom tunneling) conformational changes are often investigated by matrix-isolation spectroscopy. It is well known that rigid hosts, such as solid noble gases, N2, or normal-H2, can largely affect both the quantum efficiency of photon-induced process tunneling rate. In present study, formic acetic acids, glycine, were in a soft host, para-H2. shown rates para-H2 orders magnitude larger than those hosts. Furthermore, our results also suggest efficiencies some (N)IR-light-induced matrices. These open door for applications host studies help understand details these complex processes.

Nonadiabatic effects on peptide vibrational dynamics induced by conformational changes.
Quantum dynamical simulations of vibrational spectroscopy have been carried out for glycine dipeptide (CH(3)-CO-NH-CH(2)-CO-NH-CH(3)). Conformational structure and dynamics are modeled in terms of the two Ramachandran dihedral angles of the molecular backbone. Potential energy surfaces and harmonic frequencies are obtained from electronic structure calculations at the density functional theory ...
متن کاملConformational Changes in 5-Methoxyindole: Effects of Thermal, Vibrational, and Electronic Excitations.
The molecule of 5-methoxyindole (5MOI) may adopt two conformational states, syn and anti, with respect to the relative orientation of the NH and OCH3 groups. The structure of monomeric 5MOI was characterized spectroscopically, in mid- and near-infrared domains. The conformational composition of 5MOI could be controlled in three different ways. Thermally, two conformers of 5MOI could be trapped ...
متن کاملA Study of the Oxidation-Induced Conformational and Functional Changes in Neuroserpin
Neuroserpin, a member of the Serine Proteinase Inhibitor (Serpin) superfamily, is known to be a neuroprotective factor in the focal ischemic stroke followed by reducing the microglial activation. Neuroserpin is a protein rich of methionine residues that can scavenge the free radical species which may increase its neuroprotective effect. On the other hand, the oxidative modifications of the amin...
متن کاملSolvent-induced conformational changes in cyclic peptides: a vibrational circular dichroism study.
The three-dimensional structure of a peptide is strongly influenced by its solvent environment. In the present study, we study three cyclic tetrapeptides which serve as model peptides for β-turns. They are of the general structure cyclo(Boc-Cys-Pro-X-Cys-OMe) with the amino acid X being either glycine (1), or L- or D-leucine (L- or D-2). Using vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectroscopy, ...
متن کاملConformational Changes and Signaling in Cell and Matrix Physics
Physical factors drive evolution and play important roles in motility and attachment as well as in differentiation. As animal cells adhere to survive, they generate force and 'feel' various mechanical features of their surroundings, with mechanosensory mechanisms based in part on force-induced conformational changes. Single-molecule methods for in vitro nano-manipulation, together with new in s...
